We have tried to keep things simple here at Thornensians, we have just one main Club membership for all, and then TWO playing packages available, one for Seniors, one for Juniors, all with different discounts available to them depending on what your family subscribes to. see below for details.
Club Membership – The Foundation of Thornensians RUFC
Become part of the Thornensians RUFC family with our Club Membership – the essential membership that gives you access to a range of exclusive benefits while supporting the continued growth and success of the club.
Whether you're a player, parent, volunteer or supporter, Club Membership is the foundation of being part of Thornensians RUFC.
Membership Cost
Adult Club Membership: £30 per year
Special Offer – Save £15!
Purchase a Club Membership for your spouse or partner at the same time and receive £15 off their membership.
It's a great way to support the club together while enjoying all the benefits of membership.
What's Included?
Your Club Membership includes:
- Digital membership card (which can be pre-loaded with funds)
- Approximately 10% discount at the clubhouse bar when your membership card is scanned
- Reduced prices for Thornensians-organised events
- Discounted hire rates for the clubhouse and club facilities
- Free entry to all senior home league fixtures
- Automatic entry into the monthly members' prize draw
- Access to the England Men's International ticket ballot for home matches at Twickenham
Do I Need a Club Membership?
Yes – if you want to become a member of Thornensians RUFC and enjoy everything the club has to offer, a Club Membership is required.
Your Club Membership gives you access to all of the exclusive member benefits listed above and also acts as the foundation for any additional membership packages.
A Club Membership is required if you wish to purchase:
- Senior Playing Membership
- Junior Playing Membership
- Any future membership packages offered by the club
In addition:
- Senior players must hold a valid Club Membership before purchasing a Senior Playing Membership.
- At least one parent or guardian of every junior player must hold a Club Membership. This helps ensure families become part of the Thornensians community while enabling the club to comply with RFU regulations, which require every junior player to be linked to a registered adult member.
Existing Development Fund & Century Club Members
This membership has replaced the previous Development Fund/Century Club membership.
If you have already paid your membership through either of these schemes, you will automatically be transferred to the new Club Membership and can begin enjoying all of the new member benefits and discounts straight away.
Important Information
- You must be 18 years of age or over to purchase a Club Membership.
- Membership is collected by annual automatic card payment.
- Your first payment will be taken on or around the date you join.
- Future renewals will then be collected approximately 12 months later.
Please note that cancelling your automatic card payment will automatically cancel your Club Membership. Any linked playing memberships may also be cancelled, along with the loss of all associated membership benefits.

Senior Playing Membership – Exceptional Value for the Whole Season
Thornensians RUFC is delighted to offer our Senior Playing Membership for the upcoming season, providing outstanding value for players who want to make the most of everything the club has to offer. Whether you're an established first-team player, returning to rugby, or joining the club for the first time, this package covers everything you need for a full season.
Membership Cost
We're pleased to confirm that our annual membership fee has remained unchanged for the new season.
The only difference is a one-off £35 kit contribution, payable with the first monthly instalment (or included within the one-off payment), which provides every senior player with an official Thornensians polo shirt, playing shorts and socks. Considering the value of this official club kit, it represents excellent value while ensuring every player is well equipped both on and off the pitch.
Membership Options:
- Senior Player: £200 as a one-off payment, or 12 monthly payments of £15, with the first payment being £50 to include the one-off £35 kit contribution.
Please note: A valid Thornensians RUFC Club Membership (£30) must also be purchased before a Senior Playing Membership can be taken out.

- RFU basic player insurance
- Official Thornensians polo shirt
- Official Thornensians playing shorts
- Official Thornensians playing socks
- All training and match subscriptions – no weekly match fees
- Access to qualified coaching staff
- Access to qualified physiotherapy support
- Full use of changing rooms and shower facilities
- Post-match meals after games
In addition, your Club Membership provides:
- Approximately 10% discount at the bar
- Discounted event tickets and facility hire
- Free entry to senior home league fixtures
- Entry into the England Rugby ticket ballot
- Monthly members' prize draw entry

Thinking about joining Thornensians RUFC? We'd love to welcome you.
New players are invited to attend up to four FREE taster training sessions, giving you the opportunity to meet the coaches and players, experience the club atmosphere and decide whether Thornensians is the right club for you.
There's no obligation to join, so come along and give rugby a try.
Joining During the Season?
If you're joining the club partway through the season, speak to a member of the coaching or committee team. We'll happily calculate a pro-rata membership fee based on the remaining fixtures and training sessions, ensuring you only pay for the remainder of the season.
Important Reminder
Purchasing a club membership does not complete your RFU registration.
All senior players must still complete their RFU GMS Player Registration through their personal GMS account before they are eligible to play.

Junior Playing Membership Now Open – Great Value for Young Players and Families!
Thornensians RUFC is delighted to launch our Junior Playing Membership for the upcoming season, offering outstanding value for young players and their families. Whether your child is new to rugby or returning for another season, our membership provides everything they need to enjoy and develop their game in a safe, supportive and welcoming club environment.
Membership Cost
We're pleased to confirm that our annual membership fee has remained unchanged for the new season.
The only difference is a one-off £10 kit contribution, payable with the first monthly instalment (or included within the one-off payment), which provides every junior player with a brand-new pair of official Thornensians playing shorts and socks. Considering the retail value of these items, this represents excellent value for families and helps ensure every player starts the season properly equipped.
Membership Options:
- First Junior Player: £175 as a one-off payment, or 12 monthly payments of £15, with the first payment of £25 to include the one-off £10 kit contribution.
- Additional Siblings: £120 as a one-off payment, or 12 monthly payments of £10, with the first payment of £20 to include the one-off £10 kit contribution (see the Second Child Onwards packages).
- Parent/Guardian Senior Player Offer: £120 as a one-off payment, or 12 monthly payments of £10, with the first payment of £20 to include the one-off £10 kit contribution, when a parent or guardian purchases a Senior Playing Membership at the same time.
Applicable discounts are applied automatically at checkout.
Eligibility & Requirements
This membership is available to junior players whose parent or guardian has purchased a Thornensians RUFC Club Membership (£30).
This ensures every junior player is linked to a registered adult member, helping us comply with RFU regulations while making the whole family part of the Thornensians community. Therefore, at least one parent or guardian of every junior player must hold a valid Club Membership.

- RFU basic player insurance
- One pair of official Thornensians playing shorts and socks
- All training and match subscriptions – no hidden weekly match fees
- Access to qualified and experienced coaching staff
- Full use of changing rooms and shower facilities (Under-13s and above)
- Post-match meals after games
In addition, parents or guardians with Club Membership also receive:
- Approximately 10% discount at the bar
- Discounted event tickets and facility hire
- Free entry to senior home league fixtures
- Entry into the England Rugby ticket ballot
- Monthly members' prize draw entry

Not sure if rugby is right for your child? Why not give it a try first?
New players are welcome to attend up to four taster sessions for just £5 per session, with no commitment to purchase a full membership until you're ready.
