Thornensians U14s Impress in Doncaster Knights Curtain Raiser!

Thornensians U14s enjoyed a fantastic experience as they were invited to play a curtain-raiser against Doncaster U14s ahead of the Doncaster Knights’ Championship clash with Coventry at Castle Park.

In front of a crowd of a couple of hundred supporters, our lads showed tremendous character, determination and team spirit to earn a well-deserved 12–12 draw.

The game got off to a challenging start, with Thornensians going 12 points behind early on. However, the team dug deep, held their opponents scoreless for the remainder of the first half, and carried that resilience into the second half.

With determination and some excellent rugby, Thornensians fought back to win the second half 12–0, completing an impressive comeback and securing a draw against their Doncaster counterparts.

The performance was a real testament to the hard work and commitment of the players, and a proud moment for everyone connected with the team. To put in such a determined performance in front of a sizeable crowd was a fantastic achievement.

It was also a fantastic opportunity for the lads to show off Thornensians' new kit, proudly displaying the logos of our valued sponsors in front of a large crowd at Castle Park. We’re incredibly grateful for the support our sponsors provide, and occasions like this offer great exposure for the businesses that help support our club and its players.

A huge well done to all the players and coaches involved, and a big thank you to Doncaster for the invitation and the opportunity to be part of a great day of rugby.

The future is looking bright for our U14s — onwards and upwards, lads!
