Discover Rugby in a Fun, Friendly and Inclusive Environment


Thorne Rugby Club is excited to launch its brand-new Intro to Rugby Sessions, starting on Wednesday 1st July, designed specifically for young people aged 9 to 17 who want to try rugby for the very first time.

These sessions are perfect for complete beginners, whether you’ve never touched a rugby ball before or are simply curious about giving the sport a go in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Open to both boys and girls, the sessions will focus on fun, teamwork, confidence-building and developing new skills — all led by qualified and experienced coaches.

Time: 6pm
📍 Location: Thorne Rugby Club
👦👧 Ages: 7 to 17 years
💷 Cost: Completely FREE

Participants will also receive:

  • A free training top
  • A free water bottle
  • Support from friendly coaches and players
  • A safe and inclusive introduction to rugby

What to Expect

The sessions are designed to make rugby enjoyable and accessible for everyone, regardless of experience or sporting background.

What to Bring

There’s no need for specialist equipment to get started.

Players simply need:

  • Comfortable sportswear
  • Trainers or suitable outdoor footwear
  • A drink
  • A positive attitude and willingness to try something new!
