Inspire Today. Shape Tomorrow. Coach at Thornensians RUFC
Thornensians RUFC are looking for enthusiastic people to join our coaching teams across our thriving Age Grade and Girls Rugby sections.
Whether you are an experienced coach, a parent wanting to get more involved, a former player looking to give something back, or someone completely new to coaching, there is a place for you at Thornensians.
As part of the club’s wider Coaching, Safeguarding & Development Framework, Thornensians RUFC is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for both players and volunteers, while continuing to strengthen coaching quality, player development and volunteer retention across the club.
Our junior and girls sections continue to grow, with boys and girls from U6 to U18 developing their skills, building friendships and creating memories both on and off the pitch.
At Thornensians RUFC, coaching is about far more than rugby. It is about helping young people build confidence, feel supported, develop teamwork and enjoy being part of a positive club community.
The club is investing heavily in volunteer support and development, with all coaches benefiting from structured onboarding, mentoring, safeguarding support and ongoing CPD opportunities. The framework also includes funded RFU qualifications, rugby-specific training, safeguarding courses and regular best practice sessions designed to help coaches grow in confidence and develop their skills.
The club’s coaching framework places a strong emphasis on:
- Safe and inclusive rugby
- High-quality coaching
- Strong player pathways
- Coach development and retention
- Welfare and safeguarding
- Building a connected coaching community
Monthly coaches’ best practice sessions will also help create a collaborative coaching culture through idea sharing, practical demonstrations, welfare support and RFU-aligned learning opportunities.
New volunteers will never be expected to do things alone, with support available every step of the way from experienced coaches, the Coaching Co-ordinator and the wider club community.
We would love to hear from anyone interested in helping shape the future of rugby at Thornensians RUFC.
To register your interest, email your name and phone number to thornensiansrufc@gmail.com and we’ll be in touch.
Come and be part of something bigger.
Play. Belong. Grow. Together we build more than rugby — we build people.
